IslandPopulation Prototype
A 3D Suika game with moving birds that build houses when they collide with another of the same type.
Left click anywhere on the island to airdrop in an animal.
Top left shows which birds will be released next.
Rotate the camera with Q and R, zoom with the scroll wheel, right mouse button toggles the top-down view.
Early prototype. More additions and changes planned. Expect bugs.
Bird behaviour notes:
- Animals, being animals, should move mostly predictably...
- Animals are mostly idle. When a new animal is dropped in or appears after a merge, then each animal will calculate a new destination.
- Animals near to the location of the newly appeared animal will move away from that location.
- Animals try to find a mate and move toward them, or otherwise move randomly...
- Animals that merge beside an existing building of their species will add a building story on top rather than build a new house. This keeps more space on the island which allows for higher scores!
